AeroTech is releasing the SyncBoxSuite Windows Tool, a desktop companion application designed for fleet IT teams. The tool brings device pre-staging, RFID card onboarding and licensed offline activation under a single workflow that talks directly to the SyncBoxSuite control panel - without exposing any of the platform's secret keys to the technician's workstation.
Pre-staging hundreds of tablets and onboarding new staff are the longest steps in any fleet rollout. The Windows Tool reduces both to a few minutes per device - and every action remains auditable in the panel.
Tablet pre-staging for fast fleet rollout
The tool supports the standard Apple device pairing flow used in enterprise tablet management. Once a tablet has been paired to a technician laptop, the Windows Tool uploads the resulting trust record to the central SyncBoxSuite panel where it is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and outside of the public web root, so deployment cycles never touch the data.
The panel then distributes that record to the SyncBox units in the field. When the same tablet is later docked into a SyncBox, the dock recognises it as already pre-staged and operations can continue without an extra USB-pairing step.
RFID card onboarding for new staff
The tool reads cards through standard USB HID-mode RFID readers (the same family already used by the SyncBox dock itself), captures only a masked UID on screen, sends the raw UID to the panel for hashing, and immediately presents the resulting SYNC-BOXS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX code that operators paste into the user record. The raw UID is never stored on the technician laptop and never logged.
Signed offline licensing
For deployments that require activation independent of network reachability, the panel issues an RS-256-signed .lic file. The Windows Tool consumes the signed file with the public key embedded in the binary, so it works fully offline once activated. Re-issuance, revocation and audit are managed centrally from the SyncBoxSuite license panel.
- Pre-staging upload: trust records are uploaded to the panel encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and stored outside the public web root, surviving deployments untouched.
- RFID card onboarding: raw UID stays in a transient local variable, the panel returns a deterministic hash, and only the hash is ever persisted.
- Signed offline licenses: RS-256 signed
.licfiles verified locally with an embedded public key - no network dependency after activation. - Bearer JWT authentication: every action is authenticated against the panel; technician laptops never carry platform secrets.
- Centralised audit log: uploads, RFID conversions and license issuance are recorded in the SyncBoxSuite panel for compliance review.
Designed for IT and security teams
The tool is built for airline IT and aviation enterprise teams managing large tablet fleets. It avoids the two patterns that typically slow down rollouts - manual per-device USB pairing and per-cabinet RFID configuration - and brings everything into the existing SyncBoxSuite governance and audit model. Distribution is via signed Windows installer and is supplied to SyncBoxSuite customers as part of their existing platform subscription.
