SyncBoxSuite Adds Local Audio Alerts for Open Device Covers

A new local warning feature improves awareness when device covers remain open beyond the configured limit.

AeroTech has introduced a new SyncBoxSuite safety and awareness update for open-lid monitoring. The release enhances existing administrator notifications by adding a local audible warning mechanism when a configured device cover remains open longer than the allowed time.

In addition to sending notifications to the company system administrator, SyncBoxSuite can now generate periodic warning sounds for five minutes when a monitored cover remains open beyond the time defined in the admin panel.

Configurable open-cover awareness

System administrators can define the permitted open duration from the SyncBoxSuite admin panel. If a selected device cover remains open beyond this configured period, the system continues to notify the relevant administrator while also activating a local audible warning sequence.

Local warning for nearby users

The audible warning is designed to improve situational awareness for nearby users, maintenance staff or operational personnel. Instead of relying only on remote notifications, the SyncBox unit can now create a local reminder that draws attention to an open cover condition.

  • Admin-panel controlled timing: define how long a cover may remain open before the warning process starts.
  • System administrator notifications: existing remote alert workflows remain active.
  • Five-minute audible warning cycle: SyncBoxSuite can sound periodic alerts for five minutes after the configured threshold is exceeded.
  • Improved local awareness: nearby users can quickly recognize that a device cover has been left open.
  • Reduced operational risk: helps prevent unattended open compartments and supports better custody control.

Supporting secure device handling

This update supports environments where device access, physical security and operational discipline are important. By combining remote administrator alerts with local acoustic awareness, SyncBoxSuite helps teams respond faster to open-cover situations and maintain better control over shared tablet storage units.

The feature is part of AeroTech’s continuous improvement roadmap for SyncBoxSuite, focusing on practical field feedback, operational safety and stronger device management workflows.
